This historic town lies 130 kms south-east of kota. Its existence can be traced
back to the 7th century when the nagvanshi rulers of central india established
their new empire on the banks of the river parvan and called it koshvardhan. In
the following years there were many upheavals and koshvardhan passed into the
hands of different rulers. One such ruler was sher shah suri and the name
shergarh was given to koshvardhan by him. The area in and around shergarh has
several monuments of historical importance. The shergarh wildlife sanctuary lies
within walking distance.
Shergarh Haveli (Shergarh - Rajasthan)
