Castle Durjan Niwas (Daspan - Rajasthan)
Castle durjan niwas was built in the early 19th century by the champawat clan of
rajputs rulers. The present fortress is built on the remnants of the old fort
structure of the same feudality. Though built in the Indo-European style, the
structure follows the Rajput style of separate wings for ladies - the zenana,
and the mardana for men. The castle has been geared up for accommodating
tourists and provides all the facilities to make the visitors' stay comfortable
and interesting. The castle is surrounded by monuments of historical importance
and excursions of these can be arranged on request. Other events of
entertainment to the tourist arranged here are camel, horse and jeep safaris
along with trekking and camping.
