The village of bhindar was granted to maharajah shakti singh by his elder
brother maharana pratap, a great emperor, in the year 1578 a.d. as a gift for
his assistance in the famous battle of historic times the `haldi ghath'. Bhindar
is close to sitamata sanctuary, and other places of historical importance
chittaurgarh, bambora, jagat and jaisamand to where trips are arranged. The
village of bhindar is also famous for its artistic swords, gold and silver
jewellery, cloth and miniature paintings.
Rajmahal - Bhindar
This palace was begun by maharajah shakti singh and has ever since been modified
at different times the latest extension being added in 1902. The rajmahal has
magnificent jharokas in every room, overlooking the picturesque countryside. The
rooms themselves traditionally decorated, with old portraits of the family and a
royal collection of arms adding charm to the palace. The tourist is also treated
to a feast of traditional folk music like ghoomar and gorband of the nagarchis,
and the folk dances of bheel, meena and banjara tribes that can be organized.
